At 63,000 sq ft, Flip Out in Rutherglen is the world’s biggest trampoline park. With a variety of trampoline-based activities on offer, there’s no better place to be this World Jump Day!
There are lots ways that you can jump-start your health and wellbeing today. Here’s a few things you might not know about trampolining.
Flipping to fitness has been scientifically proven
In the 1980s, NASA looked at the benefits of bouncing.
Their study found that trampolining is 68% more effective than jogging. Just 10 minutes of bouncing was proven to be more efficient and effective cardiovascular workout than running for 30 minutes and the wide range of movements involved works every muscle in the body.
Celebrities are on board
Victoria Beckham and Team GB’s Louis Smith are big fans of jumping to maintain their fitness. It is a fun way to boost energy and tone and strengthen your muscles. You can even burn up to 1000 calories per session, which is the same as a spin class. If it’s good enough for celebrities, then it’s good enough for us!
Bounce away the blues
The feel-good effect from bouncing brings lots of benefits to your health and wellbeing. As you bounce, your brain releases more endorphins than it would during other forms of exercise. With a higher level of endorphins flowing throughout the body your mood can be naturally lifted, reducing anxiety and improving your sleep.
You could become a fully fledged ninja
Flip Out has something for everyone, from professionally led parkour and fitness classes to a multi-level soft play area for children. The arena is also home to the country's first Ninja Warrior course, designed to test your balance and strength as well as your determination.
