Springfest organisers are planning to serve up another feast of food, free fun and entertainment for everyone looking for the perfect day out!
Preparations for Scotland’s freshest festival, Springfest, are well underway, and organisers are planning to serve up another feast of food, free fun and entertainment for everyone looking for the perfect day out. Now in its third year, the festival is a celebration of amazing food and drink from across the country. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April at Loch Lomond Shores, and almost 80 suppliers are expected to set up on the stunning banks of Loch Lomond for the weekend.
The festival is part of Scotland’s Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology in 2017, which will shine a spotlight on Scotland’s rich history and heritage. The food and drink suppliers are either linked with Scotland or use Scottish produce and are passionate about food and drink.
There’ll be fun for all the family as kids get to try being mini chefs at our kids tent, there’s a chance to meet the Easter bunny and follow the Spring treasure trail whilst adults can enjoy popping into the cook demo tent, sponsored this year by Greenergy, throughout the day to pick up tips on cooking up some spring delights as well as listening to live music across the festival site from a range of excellent Scottish musicians.
The festival, just a short drive from Glasgow, Stirling and surrounding towns is free to attend and opens at 10am and closes at 6pm both days.
Kat Kennedy, festival organiser, said: “It’s set to be another great year for Springfest as we have been inundated with booking requests from a wide range of producers across the country. The mix of food and drink that will be on offer will certainly tantalise the taste buds and festivalgoers can also expect to enjoy a great mix of live entertainment from street performers, live music, cooking demos and lots of the vendors will also be providing tastings at their stands too. It’s one of the best free festivals and we can’t wait to welcome everyone".
