Ghanian born pop duo, Reggie n Bollie have been announced as performers at the final of Junk Kouture Scotland at the SEC Armadillo!
The X Factor finalists, who came second in the 2015 show, will perform at the trashy fashion competition on February 9th which sees schools from across Scotland showcase couture fashion made entirely from recycled materials. Irish singer songwriter, Brenadan Murray, formerly of Hometown will also take to the stage.
Nearly 1,000 students entered the competition this year and 80 finalists will take to the catwalk on the night to be judged by X Factor’s Louis Walsh and former Saturdays star, Una Healy.
Now in its third year in Scotland, Junk Kouture inspires young, wannabe fashion designers to come up with truly spectacular creations made solely out of rubbish, while at the same time reinforcing the importance of recycling and re-using waste.
The overall 2017 winner will receive £1000 for their school, £500 cash, and iPad minis for their team, and teacher. The Enterprise and Performance winners will take away a trophy and ASOS and Ticket master vouchers respectively and the winner of the Glamour prize will have the chance to walk the red carpet in their design at the Royal Film premiere in London. This year there’s a brand new category to recognise budding young creative minds; the winner of the Junior Design award will receive a trophy as well as One4all vouchers.
Reggie, one half of the pop duo said: “We are really excited to be heading to Glasgow. We’ve performed in Scotland before and always had an amazing reception so we can’t wait to see what the crowd has in store for us this time.”
