6th January: Rock Painting
Be inspired by some of the tribal art from around the world and then try your hand at making your own.
13th January: Blast Off!
Calling all intrepid space exploders! Join us on our journey through the solar system, make your own rocket and create some alien slime!
20th January: Burns Day Celebrations
Get your ceilidh dancing shoes on and celebrate the Scottish Bard with our very own robert Burns. With a traditional Ceilidh celebration, poetry, storytelling and a tour of the art collection inspired by poetry.
27th January: Australia Day
Go walkabout at GMRC and go down under to explore our Australian collection to celebrate Australia Day! Have a go on a real digeridoo all the way from an aboriginal community in the Northern Territory of Australia.
3rd February: Ancient Egyptians
Your chance to handle real egyptian objects and be inspired to create your own egyptian artwork.
10th February: Come and catch the Love Bug!
Get the love bug at GMRC where we go on a hunt for love and bugs with creative card making in the lead up to Valentine's Day!
17th February: Paper Dragons
Take a dragon themed tour around the collection then create a Chinese style paper dragon way.
24th February: Enter the Quizinator
Solve puzzles, complete challenges and test your memory on this fun interactive tour then take on the Quizinator at the end!
3rd March: Games Around the world!
Come and explore our collection of objects from all over the world! You'll get the chance to play and make gameboards from all over the world!
10th March: Ahoy, Me Hearties
Join us on this swashbuckling adventure around our stores as we become pirates for the day!
17th March: Cinema Fun and Clay in Action!
Explore our old cinema equipment and its past glories and model your own clay props and bring them to life!
24th March: Deadly Dinosaurs
Travel back in time to meet and learn about the most dangerous animals to roam the planet and their surroundings!
31st March: Easter Eggs
Have a look at our collection of birds eggs then use a plastic egg and marbling ink to make your own.
Glasgow Museums welcomes families and children of all ages and all our venues are FREE to visit.
Our displays and exhibitions are designed with families in mind, so you’ll always find something interesting to explore when you visit.
Events are FREE unless otherwise stated.
